In recent times, Air Deccan has merged
with Kingfisher and changed its name to Kingfisher Red. The merger of Deccan
airlines in kingfisher airlines be effective from April 2008 and Kingfisher will
effectively merge into Deccan Aviation following which, Deccan Aviation will be
renamed ‘Kingfisher Airlines’. Vijay Mallya will be the Chairman and CEO of the
new company, while Capt. G.R Gopinath the founder of Deccan Airlines will be its
